Airbnb super host since 2013! I love black coffee, dark beers, spotted bananas, and bears!  I've lived in the NC mountains for over 35 years so I can tell you all about the area and the local attractions.

I'm a jack of all trades with a full-time job.  I am an NC native, well-traveled, and I hold two college degrees. I'm more of an introvert into solo sports like motorcycles, landscaping, and travel.  I'm a vegetarian/vegan.  I've lived in Phoenix, AZ, and in NYC.  A creative thinker type.  I listen to music almost 24/7.  And I'm gay (sadly that deters some guests).

Although I've worked in the hospitality industry for over 25 years I'm an introvert so I'll not blow you away with aggressive conversation (but I can certainly banter about almost anything).  You'll likely not see me much as I savor privacy-- yours and mine!

I am not interested in hosting you if you do not have a profile, photos, reviews, or if I cannot find you on social media. Once bitten, twice shy here ;)

ABOUT "THE BEAR DEN":

"The Bear Den" is my 1600sf 3BR 2BA lodge-inspired dream home in Blowing Rock, NC. A stellar location between Blowing Rock and Boone with 6.7 acres of wooded privacy.

There's a spacious kitchen with granite countertops and stainless appliances and hardwood flooring. The master suite (Bearhaven) is up 6 steps from the main level offering privacy from 2 other guest rooms (Daisy and Fern Rooms) which share a bath. Rocking chair front porch to enjoy a coffee or wine outdoors.

Please note that your room is quiet and private, but it is located inside the home so there is not a private outside entrance to your room. I rent 2 of the 3 bedrooms on AirBnB.  There may be other people staying while you're here.

Due to living on a mountain, my driveway may be inaccessible in snow/ice. Sometimes I’m motivated and shovel it, other times I park and walk up/down. I will offer a full refund if weather prevents us from access. Welcome to the mountains!
